Job Summary

  • Under the general supervision of the faculty PI and co-PI of the Northwest-AI-Hub's Workforce Development (WFD) project, provide administrative support and coordinate project activities on and off campus;
  • Develop and implement educational and outreach materials and activities, develop and manage specialized workforce development and training programs for undergraduate, community colleges, and K-12 students / teachers for the project;
  • Coordinate and expand experiential learning opportunities in classrooms, UC Davis and partners' labs, student design center (ESDC) and microfabrication facility (CNM2), provide planning and support of field days, workshops and short courses;

Conduct budget and financial planning; Assist PI and co-PI in collecting and organizing program data both in electronic and printed formats.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing and assessing business processes, developing goals and plans for implementation, and seeking improved systems.
  • Experience with advanced functions of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point), Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop / FinalCut, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Skill in managing, training and overseeing development of volunteers.
  • Knowledge of outreach platforms and technologies to support the project efforts.
  • Writing, editing, proofreading, and graphic design skills to create and edit documents and promotional materials for the project, including brochures, newsletters, display posters.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited program majoring in science, engineering, education, economics, social science, or a related area is required;

Preference for candidates interested in STEM education and pursuing a new related career and training.

  • Experience with social media networks.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and experience with cleanroom microfabrication techniques.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and take responsibility for specific tasks.
  • Organizational skills and experience managing large projects and multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of mailing protocols to support the project outreach efforts.
  • Financial planning skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skills to create web-based writable forms.

Position requires lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Provide own transportation to off-site events and meetings.
  • A valid CA driver's license may be required for off-site event coordination.
