Job Description
To oversee, stimulate, guide, and support the Group Sales, Catering and Conference Services Department to maximize overall revenues;
maintain positive interdepartmental communications; contribute to the overall direction and operation of the hotel and to effectively control and minimize all marketing expenses while exceeding overall budgeted revenues and occupancy.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full maximization of rooms potential.
- Maintain emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines.
- Assist Director of Marketing in developing, maintaining, and implementing strategies / action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
- Stimulate productivity of all sales staff through guidance, development, and support.
- Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a Proactive Solicitation environment.
- Develop, maintain, and assist with the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively.
- Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis.
- Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
- Ensure a challenging and exciting environment to encourage full career development and personal growth.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience leading a team of sales managers in a hotel enviornment in a senior sales or national account management role.
- Must be a self-starting team player that contributes positive energy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- Excellent ability to conduct group presentations, written and oral.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary.
- Strong business planning, account planning and budget management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue.
- Demonstrated ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results.
- Strong financial / statistical analysis and business case development skills.
- Strong understanding and expertise in the sales process.
- Extensive experience with account management.
- Proficient in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
