A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Vice President (VP) of Program Management.

In this role, the Vice President (VP) of Program Management will be responsible for leading the Program Management Office (PMO) utilizing best-in-class program management methodologies to support the end-to-end oversight of the program strategy and management for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and reporting, on all initiatives supported by the PMO.

Responsibilities :

The Vice President (VP) of Program Management will be responsible for :

  • Develop and maintain the Program Management Office (PMO) and support all large and complex projects that are directly tied to the organization’s strategic goals
  • Manage and mentor a team of project managers, provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for direct reports
  • Partner with leadership to ensure initiatives assigned to the PMO are in line with the organization’s strategic goals, prioritized appropriately and business and IT resources are assigned
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budget
  • Work closely with cross functional departments to understand project requirements, align on the strategy, and formalize a project delivery schedule
  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, across all projects, from initiation to close, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business expectations

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business, Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing large complex projects (i.e., multiple project managers, 15 plus project staff, $2 million or more project budget)
  • 5-7 years’ experience working at a health plan in project management or operations
  • Experience using a PMI-based Project Management Methodology / Process Improvement methodology
  • Experience implementing third-party applications
  • Knowledgeable of the software development life cycle and the ability to operate effectively within the process

Desired Skills :

  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • proficiency in Project Management and Process Improvement tools including Microsoft Project, JIRA, Excel, and Visio
