EDUCATION MANAGER The Leonardo seeks an Education Coordinator to join our team and mission to fuse science, technology, and art in experiences that inspire creativity and innovation in people of all ages and backgrounds.

  • Pay Rate : $18 - $20 per hour Schedule : Full-time, benefit-eligible; Work hours are typically from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with time off for breaks and a lunch period;

  • Vacation, Sick Pay, Paid Holidays, Parental Leave, Bereavement And more! WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY : Scheduling : Build field trip reservations in Altru;

Schedule field trip arrival times and workshops; all other communications with teachers regarding field trips, including surveys and rescheduling requests.

In coordination with Education Manager, build Leo-on-Wheels visit and staff schedule for each year, including visit confirmations, rescheduling requests, surveys, and attendance data.

  • Schedule education staff to staff community and education outreach events, including science nights, education expos, and conferences Coordinate registration and communication for outreach events Work with the Education Manager as school / group tours are scheduled to ensure proper invoicing and accepting of payments Ensure summer camp registration runs smoothly;
  • communicate with parents to make sure all forms are filled out properly; support summer camp staff Work with the Community Relations Manager to staff field trip stations and / or workshops;
  • ensure staff are trained on field trip procedures Administrative : Collect, manage, and report on department KPIs; Compile regular statistical reports and communicate to management and directors Process advance payments for field trip groups;
  • Monitor field trip reservations and payments to determine overages or remaining balances Monitor field trips visiting the museum;
  • ensure students enter and exit museum efficiently; ensure staff are running activities properly Answer phone and email messages;
  • Ensure prompt response and customer satisfaction in all situations; Send confirmation emails, reminder emails, invoices, and surveys to field trip contacts;

Ensure that all Education program information on the website is accurate and up-to-date Provide support for the Programs Department with scheduling and staffing various programs.

  • Provide essential basic IT troubleshooting on the floor Additional responsibilities as needed WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED : Education : Associate’s degree in Education, or equivalent knowledge and experience Experience : Minimum 1-2 years of proven K-12 education instruction or administration experience Competencies : Experience with point-of-sale and / or scheduling systems;
  • experience with Altru preferred; High Level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or comparable programs;
  • computer literacy sufficient to quickly master new software, including point-of-sale systems; High degree of initiative, integrity, and accuracy;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Excellent organizational abilities; Ability to work independently to resolve problems;
  • Ability to resolve customer service issues in a constructive and effective manner; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • adhere to deadlines; demonstrate flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and members of the public;
  • exercise tact and diplomacy at all times; demonstrate an understanding of protocol and sensitivity to diversity issues; and Alignment with The Leonardo’s mission, vision, and values Physical / Other Requirements : Valid Utah Driver’s License;
  • have a clean driving record; Valid Utah Educator license and familiarity with Utah’s education system, standards, and teacher needs preferred;
  • Due to working with K-12 students, you must pass a background check; Light Work : Lift / carry / push / pull objects frequently of a negligible amount up to 15 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds, and rarely over 25 pounds;
