Reporting to the Lead Equipment Specialist, the Equipment Specialist plays a key role in delivering top-tier customer service and support to our Distribution Sales Force.

As part of the sales support team, you will collaborate closely with vendors, sales representatives, managers, and customers, combining your kitchen design, project management, and selling skills.

Your role will involve working with various teams to drive growth in equipment sales and fulfill the evolving needs of our expanding customer base.

This position will focus on the DC, PA, and S. NJ markets and will require a substantial amount of travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the company's products, resources, and support structures to better support customers and internal teams.
  • Work with Sr. Specialist, DSM, and key accounts to provide a higher level of support to customers requiring consultative and complex assistance.
  • Provide expert sales support to customers and sales representatives. Conduct site visits, meet with customers, develop equipment layouts, and help recommend, implement, or design various foodservice equipment solutions.
  • Project manage and coordinate multiple projects, manage equipment deliveries, select subcontractors, and oversee projects from design to completion of punch lists.
  • Collaborate with customers and the sales department to create professional food service equipment layouts and assist in securing design agreements when necessary.
  • Keep updated with the latest kitchen equipment technology by attending test kitchens, factory trainings, and trade shows.
  • Work with vendors to help solve service and other challenges and help us support and stand behind the products we sell.

LEAD OR SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and guidance to junior and other team members or customers.
  • Select, award, and manage subcontractors and labor crew.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and AbilitiesEducation / Experience :

Associates Degree in Business or 5+ years of equivalent work experience. Must have at least 5+ years in a relatable field or specifically in selling, project managing, or design in the foodservice equipment or design-build segment.

Competencies :

Problem solving and critical thinking, excellent verbal & written communication skills, energetic, positive attitude, ability to work under pressure while maintaining positive behavior, ability to work independently or with others in a team environment, detail-oriented, time and resource management skills, organizational and follow-through skills.

Other Requirements :

Computer and software proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, CRM), valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to walk, move or traverse throughout the area of assignment to perform various job-related tasks.

Must be able to use hands / fingers to handle (or feel) in order to operate various types of office and hand-held industrial equipment.

Must be able to inspect all equipment to ensure they are in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs to perform various job-related tasks, if necessary.

Must be able to position self to stand, move, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Salary

Salary is $85K + Bonus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a hybrid inside / outside sales position. Standard hours are Monday Friday from 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm.

TRAVEL

Travel and / or commuting required about 50% of the time and some overnight travel may be required.
