Salary range : $46,520 - $74,898
Essential Functions :

- Plans, coordinates, and implements educational and recreation programs and activities for visitors; identifies topics and activities that promote conservation, protection, and responsible use of the park, trail and natural area;
- schedules events and maintains calendar for facilities; prepares long and short-term goals for educational and recreational programs and develops a written plan of action;
evaluates and revises programs as necessary; leads programs and serves as a guide for visitors; and coordinates the volunteer program.
- Provides customer service to the public and security for the park, trail and natural area; greets and provides information to visitors;
- directs visitors to specific areas; patrols site; provides routine first aid and emergency assistance to visitors as needed;
records, reports, and issues tickets for violations; and requests assistance from public safety agencies as required.
- Assists with the development and implementation of a management plan for park, trail, and natural area; identifies park resources and assets;
- inventories plant species and wildlife in the preserve; protects endangered species through park, trail, and natural area management and education;
researches and applies for grants and additional funding; and identifies work projects and writes orders for complex tasks.
Develops and distributes educational and public relations materials such as flyers, brochures and program calendars.
Provides routine maintenance and upkeep of park facilities; performs janitorial tasks to maintain cleanliness and remove trash;
and performs janitorial, groundskeeping and landscaping tasks to maintain the park and facilities, to include removal of trees and debris, emptying trash cans, clearing trails, and planting.
Performs various clerical and administrative tasks in support of the park office and operations.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Education, Resource Management, Forestry, or other related field required; two years of experience working in parks, resource management, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required : Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
