With our team expanding, we are seeking a talented in-house Mechanical Assembly & outside Field Service Technician, who seeks enjoyment building new machines, solving mechanical challenges, utilizing their technical expertise and interpersonal skills, to provide customers with best in class service.

In this role you will :

  • Work with a terrific team of assembly and electrical technicians
  • Maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction through building, installing, demonstrating, performing preventative maintenance / repair, and effectively troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures in our automated equipment.
  • Travel about 25% (on average) in a given year visiting customer sites
  • Modify and submit reports from the field in respect to our company’s processes.
  • Attend and successfully complete all product training(s) as required.
  • Assist with in-house duties when not required to be in the field.
  • Keep current on trends from both market & technical standpoints.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Experience in the assembly, repair & troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment
  • Ability to identify customer needs and match their solution with Gateway's product & services
  • Building mechanical assemblies and other duties in the plant
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and applications
  • Accurately read and follow electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Windows, MS Office and Excel
  • Ability to travel with an overnight stay(s) depending on customer need
  • Ability to conduct business in an ethical, successful manner
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to achieve personal professional growth
  • Strong technical, communication and organizational skills
  • Be proficient with the use of service devices (ex. Multimeters, hand tools, etc.)
  • Inspect, calibrate, program, assemble, electrical wiring
  • Work with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic components
  • Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) and other programing experience is helpful
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, such as standing and able to lift 20 pounds or more.
  • Driving and / or flying to customer locations within North America is required
