Clarence J. Venne is a leading manufacturer of bingo dabbers, a tool used by bingo players to mark their paper bingo cards.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. If you are passionate about accuracy, efficiency, and financial integrity, we would love to hear from you!
Reporting to the Controller, this position involves managing accounts payable, payroll, financial closing procedures, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Administer the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing and payment disbursements.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee reimbursements.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Process payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation.
- Review and verify accuracy of time sheet entries and resolve discrepancies with employees or supervisors. Integrate time sheet data into the payroll system.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues related to paychecks, deductions, and benefits.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and standards.
- Support the month-end and year-end financial close process.
- Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances and transactions.
- Assist the Controller in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for internal financial reporting purposes.
- Assist the Controller in preparing annual budgets, including collaborating with department heads to gather necessary information.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis including variance and trend analysis.

What You'll Bring
- College or university degree in accounting, preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting and payroll experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Tech savvy with proficiency using accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Effective in time management.
- Ability to objectively review information pertinent to position.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
