Position description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of California Los Angeles is currently recruiting an Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon.

Qualified candidates must have completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program, successfully completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship, and must be board certified or board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, and be able to obtain a California medical license.

Applicants are expected to have excellent clinical skills and be willing to actively participate in medical education. Faculty appointment with UCLA will be commensurate with the applicant's background and accomplishments.

This role will provide clinical care centered around Orthopaedic Trauma at UCLA's Ronald Reagan Medical Center as well as Santa Monica Hospital.

Additional sites may be added if necessary. In addition to trauma care, this position requires one to two days of outpatient clinical care provided at one of our outpatient clinics.

Candidates should be fully engaged in providing state-of-the-art, patient-centered care. We seek an accomplished physician with an interest in developing an academic orthopaedic surgery practice focused on trauma care.

The candidate must be comfortable covering basic orthopaedic trauma in a general trauma call pool. Candidates should be enthusiastic about engaging in educating medical students, residents, and fellows, serving the university community, and augmenting one of the nation's leading departments.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Qualified candidates must hold an M.D. or M.D. / Ph.D. or equivalent. Candidates must also have completed a fellowship training in Trauma Surgery.

Candidates should be board certified / eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, and have or be eligible for a California medical license.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates who have demonstrated excellence in research, preferably with a track record of extramural funding, is preferred
