Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do : TranSystems, has an opening for a Civil Engineer with a strong construction / CEI background for Civil / Site related projects, who will be assigned to the Clearwater / Palmetto offices.
This position will provide support on Land Development projects, provide technical assistance to the project engineer, provide QA / QC (constructability review), and construction oversight services.
General Responsibilities : Ability to assist the project manager on various civil engineering projects at one time. Assist with planning, design, permitting and coordinating projects.
Attend and various meetings as needed related to construction projects. Focuses on quality and help to ensure QA / QC procedures are followed.
Must be good communicator and possess ability to resolve problems. Provide subject matter expertise and technical support to project teams.
Manage assigned project elements, which may involve structures, roadways, and other transportation facilities. Analyze and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure project constructability.
Identify design errors and impacts for the project team. Interprets unclear contract language. Work on several projects simultaneously.
Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management. Qualifications What you bring to our firm : Minimum of 2 years of directly related Civil Engineering / Site Construction Experience Professional engineer is preferable but not required.
Considerable knowledge of site, roadway, structure, utilities, traffic engineering, construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, specifications, and contracts materials used and performance, environmental, legal, and safety responsibilities related to construction of site related items;
and knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and contract management software. Ability to review shop drawings and material specifications as provided by contractors.
Ability to Interpret site construction plans, specifications, and contracts. Prepare technical, financial, administrative, and explanatory correspondence.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel. Must be a good communicator and able to resolve solutions in the field.
Must be able to work independently and manage time wisely. Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
