The Director of Nursing will oversee and manage all nursing operations within our healthcare facility, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

A 99-bed skilled and rehabilitation center that is rated 5-stars in Quality Measures. Director of Nursing experience within a skilled nursing facility is required.
We are currently offering a $15,000 Sign-on Bonus. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in Michigan.
Summary : Manages the facility nursing program in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, applicable State and Federal regulations, and policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Oversee the overall operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance patient care quality.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development and excellence.
Collaborate with medical professionals and administrative staff to coordinate patient care and optimize clinical outcomes.
Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing levels to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Address and resolve any issues related to patient care, staff performance, or operational challenges promptly.
Stay abreast of advancements in nursing practices and healthcare innovations to integrate into the department’s initiatives.
Rounds on unit at least once daily.
Performs general management functions such as hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees.
Interview and hire new nursing staff.
Plans and facilitates meetings and committees to address resident care issues.
Review time sheets for accuracy before payroll.
Manages the Nursing Department with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.
Develops and manages systems to assure clinical competencies.
Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of nursing staff members.
Identification of training needs.
Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to their objectives and costs.
Develops and manages nurse on call system.
Develops the department budget for approval, monitors expense and stays within budget.
Investigate and resolve residents / family / employee concerns.
Ensures that annual competency evaluations and performance reviews are completed in the appropriate time frame.
Participating in Employee Recognition Program.
Pro-actively addresses survey and / or standards of care issues.
Develop and manage staffing scheduler system.
Plans and guides the professional development of nursing staff.
Ensures that adequate nursing staff are available based on facility / census requirements.
Collect data to compile reports in a timely manner, and to meet deadlines.
Participates in facility "Performance Improvement Program."
Assures that all clinical protocols and nursing policies and procedures are followed.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Assure Pharmacy, dietary, physician consults are followed in timely manner.
Assumes complete responsibilities for the Center in absence of Administrator.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in nursing leadership and healthcare management.
Advanced degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
Proven ability to develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated expertise in budget management and resource allocation.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
