Summary
The position of team lead cashier / barista is an employee who has successfully demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the café job titles and possesses the ability to develop into a supervisory position.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Leadership experience preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The ability to clearly communicate instructions defined by dietary leadership to fellow team members. Must have organization skills and the ability to work alongside other team members while providing instruction and direction in real time.
A team lead cashier / barista must have the ability to maintain current and updated knowledge of retail environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES :
- Maintains equipment by ensuring correct use by staff.
- Maintains cleanliness and high-level sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
- Assures team members follow proper sanitation and HACCP (hazard analysis critical care points) procedures : for example not eating or drinking at registers, personal hygiene, and handwashing.
- Completes detailed task assignments
- Assists with on the job training of new employees
- Helps enforce policies and procedures
- Demonstrates ability to lead and communicate with fellow team members in Starbucks standards.
- Demonstrates and enforce all cash handling policies and procedures.
- Follows all food safety procedures including temperature logs, sanitation logs, cleaning schedules, correct food storage and date labeling.
- Supports the directives provided by dietary leadership, often when managers and supervisors are not present.
- Performs quality inspections and corrects any deficiencies identified immediately. Reports trends in quality concerns to dietary leadership.
- Inspects areas to ensure established cleaning routines are being completed in a timely and competent manner. Identify deficiencies to team members assigned under your responsibility
- Delegate team members to ensure efficient unit performance and customer satisfaction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Walking and standing often for the duration of the assigned shift.
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling 50-75 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Fast paced culinary environments
- Work around kitchen equipment that produces heat, steam and orders during food preparation.
