A growing renewable energy company is currently seeking an Environmental Specialist to support the expanding EHS department, based out of the Waltham, MA area.
The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the Environmental Compliance program and assist the leadership team to ensure that all entities with the organization remain in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
The Role :
- Assist operational leadership and project teams with compliance audits and resolve issues concerning environmental compliance.
- Provide support as a technical leader with compliance strategies across all environmental media (water, waste, air, land, etc.)
- Ensure timely communication of environmental events and assure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Support Environmental team & senior leadership in the development & implementation of corporate environmental initiatives including waste management, ESG, environmental stewardship, and other related EHS programs.
- Collaborate with the field-based workforce to determine root causes, knowledge sharing, and preventative measures.
The Candidate :
- B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or other related discipline (Preferred)
- 2+ years of relevant environmental experience in the O&G, chemicals, or related industries.
- Knowledge of such environmental programs as NPDES, SWPPP, RCRA, and EPCRA.
- Must be a strong communicator, able to build relationships with stakeholders within the organization, clients, and regulatory agencies.
