POSITION
We are seeking a Portfolio Specialist to assist in the maintenance, development and growth of the Municipals team. The Portfolio Specialist is accountable for developing of relationships with clients, prospects and our distribution teams across the whole Allspring Distribution platform for the Municipals team, developing appropriate narrative and marketing collateral, meeting with existing clients to collaborate on existing mandates and working with prospects to grow our business.
The Portfolio Specialist will also collaborate with the firm's existing investors and prospects to facilitate the design and delivery of appropriate investment strategies and solutions to meet their financial and sustainability objectives.
We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 3 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary liaison between client facing teams and the investment team
- Develop expert level product knowledge to clearly articulate and market portfolio strategies to clients and prospects
- Work with clients across investor types to meet their unique needs, putting clients first in everything they do
- Support Client & Consultant Relations Directors and Sales team in broad fixed income solutions and investment team / portfolio-specific meetings by participating in calls, attending client meetings when necessary and contribute to RFP submissions etc.
- Contribute to Municipals investment narrative, pitch books, thought leadership, market views and research
- Contribute to sustainability and climate integration into the investment process and client portfolios
- Perform quantitative analysis on client investment portfolios to highlight key characteristics and determine how to meet client outcomes
- Participate in promoting the team and the Muni Platform's capabilities and products through writing and overseeing relevant and interesting research and positioning papers / support material
- Keep business management informed regarding the business and performance of the investment team
- Assist in directing the business in the most commercially appealing direction and inform / develop future generations of fixed income products and services
- Work across the Allspring Fixed Income Platform in collaboration with the wider team of Portfolio Specialists to help represent the platform to its full extent
- In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Recent Investment Management Certificate or equivalent qualification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years of strong investment analysis and / or consulting experience with a focus on Munis
- Global experience and exposure
- Proven experience and ability to understand portfolio construction and investment risk management
- Strong academic background
- Excellent quantitative analysis
- Top communication, interpersonal and presentations skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements
Base Pay Range : $130,000 - $175,000
Salary Range for California candidates only.Actual based may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
