Position Overview
Using a variety of tools, machines and, manual processes, the Maintenance Technician maintains all plant machinery (hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
utilizing proper skilled techniques to assure the safe, efficient operation of all Lithium-ion battery machines by meticulously following the manufacturing instructions and directions from engineers.
Areas of Focus
Lithium Maintenance Technicians are responsible for creating the highest quality product and meeting production volume targets.
Responsibilities
- Be punctual, consistent, and committed member of the team
- Adhere to safety protocol and lab guidelines
- Follow the preventive maintenance schedule in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's recommendation and industry accepted best practices for all plant equipment.
- Maintain, repair or replace equipment, while performing basic mechanical and electrical repair work.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair, 120V - 480V 1 phase / 3 phase electrical equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Notice and report any abnormal conditions / failures and take required corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions.
- Perform electrical testing, motor testing, fuse / continuity checks, and voltage / resistance / current relationships.
- Perform machinery and basic equipment examinations to troubleshoot defects and visual wear
- Perform machine shop functions (sheet metal, steel layout and welding).
- Follow company policy, processes and action plans as it relates to all plant machinery.
- Support an environment of continuous improvement by making / implementing suggestions.
- Maintain close coordination with departments to resolve equipment breakdowns and other production related opportunities.
- Must follow and understand production daily goals and requirements.
- Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment
- Understand and practice Trojan Battery Quality Policies
- Perform general housekeeping and follow Work Instructions
- Detect and report defective materials
- Dispose of contaminated work materials in appropriate containers
- Follow and maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices
- Responsible individual with strong work ethic
- Available for various shifts, and overtime
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Read, write, and speak basic English
- High School Diploma, GED, or greater
- 4 to 6 years’ experience in an industrial environment working within a maintenance (electrical / mechanical) department as a Maintenance Electrician / Technician
- Experience working with troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs preferred. 3 years preferred.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Read and follow blueprints and draw simple schematics.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic understanding of MS Office (Word / Excel).
- Ability to complete all required data entry and documentation in Maintenance software.
- Understanding of OHM's Law (Electrical formulas and equations) and NEC (National Electric Code).
- Familiar with Rockwell software a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Good communication skills to report issue clearly and effectively
- Safety training in previous jobs
- Clean Room experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree highly preferred
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in final assembly and electrical testing of devices (e.g., in industrial products, medical devices, solar, military, aerospace or battery industries)
