Central Services Technician

Acts as a resource to onsite and off-site patient care providers for dispensing supplies and equipment

Assures sufficient decontamination of patient care equipment and specialty carts

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection prevention work flows

Disassemble and clean equipment such as suction units iv pumps dvt units etc. following established procedures

Dispense products requested for sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies assigns priority to emergency request

Dispense supplies and equipment to on-site and off-site patient care providers

Fills case carts with % accuracy or greater

Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures of the Department of Health The Joint Commission OSHA CDC AAMI and AORN standards

Inspects inventory to maintain outdated package integrity and adequate stock levels

Monitors and inspects supplies instruments and equipment for bioburden and event related occurrences

Seeks opportunities to learn multi-specialties

Utilizes correct practices in handling of sterile supplies

Wears all appropriate and required personal protective equipment when working in the decontamination area

May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time

Required Education : High School Diploma / GED

Preferred Education : Successful completion of Central Service Technician course

Required Experience : Computer skills. Good communication, interpersonal, and conflict management skills
