Essential Functions / Responsibilities :

Clinical Excellence / patient care

• Assists nursing with delivers high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care while in the Emergency Department.
• Provide high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills with established protocols while in the ambulance setting.
• Triage patients presenting to the Emergency Department and / or with EMS services
• Utilizes an age appropriate, holistic approach for the patients and families seeking emergency services.
• Assist / float to other areas to assist with clinical and non-clinical functions as needed and / or as assigned

Basic Clarke County Hospital (CCH) Performance Criteria

QUALIFICATIONS :

Certification in good standing from the Iowa Department of Public Health, EMS bureau.

BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Valid driver’s license.

EVOC or equivalent within 1 year of employment

Mandatory Reporting within 6 months of hire.

Adaptability with influx or outflow of patients, being able to triage patients according to level of injury, illness with the most critical patient taking precedence when there are multiple.

Customer / patient focused.

Critical thinking skills, using judgment in making decisions.

Must be able to read, write and understand English.

Shifts & Schedule : Variable

On-Call : 12-24 hours per pay period

Weekends : Every 3rd

Holidays : Every other
