Senior Accountant
Well established company in the Inland Empire seeks a Sr. Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical financial accounting background coupled with excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to take the initiative, and to work independently.
This person will work closely with, and be the right hand to, the Director of Financial Accounting. Summary / Objective The Sr.
Accountant is responsible for various aspects of the accounting function, including maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations and in-depth financial analysis, preparing journal entries and financial statements, assisting with the budget preparation, and responding to business ad hoc requests.
Essential FunctionsPrepare journal entries by providing and maintaining detailed records and files.Perform monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Track and allocate costs associated with different departments and cost centers.Participate in the month end closing process.
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements.Participate in annual budget including actual vs budget analysis.
Prepare audit schedules and work with outside auditorsHandle weekly and end of season analysis and reporting.Coordinate annual external audit;
review and prepare audit schedules.Special projects, ad-hoc reports upon management request.Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting.Five or more years of relevant accounting experience.Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Previous experience with major accounting software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
Good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office.
