The Opportunity :

The Business Development Manager for EV - National will lead sales efforts within the federal and NEVI sectors, with a primary focus on driving sales and implementing LG's strategic EV sales initiatives.

Success in this role requires a proven track record and relevant experience in selling hardware / software to federal customers, NEVI, and resellers.

Experience in selling EV charging stations and established industry relationships would be highly advantageous. This position involves cross-functional collaboration with LG business units, value-added resellers, electrical contractors, and distributors.

The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced sales environment, be creative, independent, and solution-oriented. A deep understanding of the EV charging industry, a history of meeting sales targets, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams are essential for achieving overall business goals.

Qualifications :

  • Review and understand the federal & local government agency’s EV charging programs, budgets, incentives and identify key areas of appropriated funding for facility infrastructure modernization
  • Solid understanding of federal contracting and contract vehicles, including government agency’s specific contracts
  • Coach, facilitate and lead complex solutions capture initiatives within the federal and local government space
  • Develop strong win strategies to capture major opportunities in the federal & local government space
  • Lead and manage the NEVI opportunities for EV infrastructure bill by state
  • Assist field sales organization to secure product, services, and business solutions sales
  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for EV chargers, aligning with the company's overall goals and sales objectives.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the EV charging industry.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts with efficiency capable of scheduling and evaluating targeted market potential.
  • Enthusiasm for vehicle electrification with a basic understanding of today’s electric vehicle charging landscape and have a strong understanding of multiple verticals.
  • Stay up to date with government and utility incentives, industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Develop strong product knowledge ability to learn and understand all product offerings.
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics, and regularly report on progress to management.
  • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and events to promote the company's EV charger products and establish industry thought leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, such as engineering, operations, and customer support, to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project implementations

Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of sales experience is required in EV Charging related industry.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience is required in the Energy related field for Sales and Business development.
  • Proven track record of successfully achieving sales targets, preferably in the EV charging industry or a related field.
  • Be comfortable with selling into multi-stakeholder sales scenarios and engaging with C-suite level down.
  • Strong understanding of the EV charging industry, including knowledge of various charging technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend conferences, and visit project sites.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track sales activities.
  • Preferred location is Washington DC metro area. In lieu of these locations, any large U.S. metro city location with a major airport is acceptable to allow easy air travel.
