ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an on-site internship in North Brunswick, NJ for Summer 2025.
The Industrial Engineer Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for deliverables related to projects focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and ergonomics.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Industrial Engineering Intern will be part of the engineering department sharing space with the engineering team in the North Brunswick facility where the intern will work and collaborate with the engineering staff on a projects and departmental deliverables.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Potential projects include line balancing, waste reduction and workstation ergonomic enhancements.
- Partner with a Sr. Engineer to identify opportunities and understand change processes.
- Administer change process related to project(s)
- Identify, select, and implement a project such as a workstation design or process improvement project.
- Establish and maintain the project plan and deliverable.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial engineering or related is required
- Junior standing or above is required.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, kaizen, and strong critical thinking skills is preferred
- Experience with CAD, Excel, PowerPoint is preferred
