The responsibilities of a Service Advisor include providing a prompt and friendly greeting, listening to their description of problems or services needed, preparing repair orders and being proactive , accurate and thorough in communication, scheduling appointments as needed.
The service advisor may also set up loaner cars and verify insurance before maintenance is scheduled. The Service Advisor serves as liaison between customer's and technicians ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the recommended service and / or repairs are understood by the customer.

Service Advisor Responsibilities :
- Greet customers promptly
- Obtain customer and vehicle information
- Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer
- Determine and recommend maintenance based on the age, mileage, and history of the vehicle
- Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of the cost for labor and parts
- Establish follow-up time
- Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, and update customers frequently
- Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order
- Explain all completed work and charges to customers
- Take ownership of the customer's experience by completing extra task that contribute to leaving a positive impression at the dealership.
Service Advisor Requirements :
- Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction
- Past experience as a service advisor, assistant lane manager or service consultant
- Very energetic personality
- A desire for a long-term career with a growing organization
- Personal and professional integrity
- Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs
Compensation :
The estimated annual earnings for this position are $35,000.00 - $105,000.00 after factoring in all forms of compensation including hourly pay, commission, overtime, etc.
Employees in this position will primarily be paid commission based on performance but will also be paid minimum wage for non-sales work and rest period.
