We are seeking a leader who is passionate about mentoring veteran students, connecting them with resources and opportunities to work with faculty, and promoting engagement with military-affiliated communities.

We seek candidates who can support the vision of a new office, work to help establish a new outlook, mission and values, and support Our Most Important Work .

In this role, you will* :

Create an inclusive and welcoming campus community with particular attention to the needs and concerns of veteran students

Manage and coordinate OMAC programs and events with themes such as wellness, academic engagement, intersectionality, as well as managing and coordinating support services and budget

Provide coaching and guidance to students on a range of issues during the life cycle of undergraduate, transfer and graduate veteran students

Facilitate resolution of student concerns that impact veteran student success

Chair the Stanford Military-Affiliated Advisory Committee (SMAAC)

Coordinate OMAC information sessions for colleagues, prospective and incoming students

Serve as a resource and advocate for the military-affiliated communities at Stanford

Work with Certifying Officer for VA benefits, Academic Advising, and other offices

Supervise 2-3 student staff

Collaborate on a team of that supports underserved communities across campus

Other duties may also be assigned

To be successful in this role, you will bring :

Bachelor's degree and minimum three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience, preferably with increasing complexity and leadership responsibilities.

Demonstrated experience with general office software and email applications.

Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects with a general direction.

Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.

Understanding of financial transactions.

Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

In addition, preferred requirements include :

Ability to oversee a wide variety of activities, to define pitfalls, to propose and implement effective solutions, while being able to set and re-adjust often competing priorities.

High level of energy, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.

Student development knowledge and experience in student affairs.

Working Conditions :

This is a hybrid position and 2-3 days of on-site work is required.

Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

The expected pay range for this position is $69,100 - $92,000 annual.
