Process Engineer Intern (Summer 2025)

This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning May 27th, .

This internship will be based at our cement plant in Theodore, AL.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a Process Engineer Intern at our cement plant, you will gain valuable, hands-on experience in cement production and work closely with our team of experienced engineers and professionals.

Key responsibilities include :

• Process Optimization : Assist in optimizing cement production processes, including adjusting parameters and troubleshooting to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Process Monitoring : Monitor and control process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates, using automated systems and manual techniques.
• Technical Learning : Understand and support various mechanical, maintenance, and production operations within the plant.
• Sustainability Initiatives : Participate in sustainability and environmental impact assessments, working on projects aimed at reducing the plant's carbon footprint and improving resource efficiency.
• Data Analysis : Collect and analyze data related to cement production, quality control, and environmental performance.
• Quality Assurance : Assist in monitoring and maintaining product quality through testing and inspecting raw materials and finished products.
• Safety Protocols : Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Skill Application : Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
• Executive Presentation : At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for enthusiastic students who meet the following criteria :

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
• A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
• Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.

SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT

• Work Schedule : This is an onsite role with a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, working an 8-hour shift each day.
• Work Environment : You will be working in a cement manufacturing and production environment, which includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and various weather conditions.
• Transportation : You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the worksite.
• Travel Requirements : You may need to travel for site tours, shadowing experiences, or intern events throughout the duration of your internship.
