Director, QA Engineering - 2402349 Description

This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week at the St.

Petersburg, FL Corporate office location.

Job Summary :

Director, QA Engineering will be responsible for leading the Performance / Load testing and Test Automation efforts across IT.

They will own the implementation and maintenance of QA Automation Frameworks to ensure software quality across the organization and to achieve high automation test coverage objectives.

They manage multiple teams of internal and offshore QA Engineers and will work closely with the rest of Software Engineering and Software Quality Management teams to ensure consistent automation solutions are delivered and employed throughout the organization.

They will provide guidance to the team to convert business objectives into technical solutions which align with the technology end state needs.

They will also ensure that execution of the technology deliverable follows a consistent process which meets the SDLC standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in software development, performance engineering and knowledge / experience QA SDLC processes and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Work with the software engineering teams to deliver projects on time and with high quality.
  • Implement robust automated QA testing practices with a focus on early issue detection.
  • Reduce manual testing footprint by increasing automation development throughput and automation testing coverage.
  • Drive more widespread usage of test automation within the SQM team.
  • Prepares and reports test results both formally and informally. Communicates results information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Will assist with the planning for and where appropriate management of Performance / Load Testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that best QA practices are adopted, and quality is embedded in the software development process.
  • Define key measurements and metrics to quantify software quality and benchmark SQM team effectiveness, adjusting processes to improve the efficiency of software delivery from a quality assurance perspective.
  • Lead the teams and develop staff, motivate, and encourage growth both technical and soft skills.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Experience and Skills :

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related degree and ten (10) years of relevant experience in managing people, automated QA processes and / or Software Development.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Test Automation frameworks.
  • In depth knowledge of different type of performance tests e.g (Reliability, Stress, Smoke etc)
  • Financial services experience highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the following :
  • Experience with Selenium for test automation is required
  • Experience with Dev Ops and CI / CD processes is required
  • Experience with API Testing using Java or Rest Assured is required
  • Experience managing QA and Performance / Load testing in an agile environment
  • Experience with Katalon, Groovy, SQL.
  • Experience with monitoring tools DynaTrace, Data Dog, Splunk.
  • Understanding of network, database, and server operation.
  • Familiar with high level design, operating characteristics, and test points of multi-tiered, web-based application.
  • Experience Service Oriented Architecture and microservice development practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management principles.
  • May work a non-standard shift including nights and / or weekends and / or have on-call responsibilities.
