Qualifications :
The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate or Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to join our Mission Systems Software team located in Tukwila, WA .
This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
As a Software Test Engineer, you will work with a team in a casual but professional environment where there is long term potential for career growth.
The optimal candidate works well with a team, has great communication skills, and is a self-starter. The selected team member enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-contract / multi-program environment.
Additionally, the software test engineer will conduct (with the possibility to lead) the testing of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.
The successful candidate should be adaptable to new development environments, eager to work with and learn new technologies and potentially be capable of leading a small software team to complete its mission.
This software supports both domestic and international customers and is developed using the Agile software process.
Position Responsibilities :
- Performs integration testing and support system and flight testing
- Documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Develops test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Conducts software research and development projects
- Troubleshoots software issues
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2+ years programming experience, school project or internships using one or more of the following languages : C, C++, Java, C#
- 2+ years experience working with agile teams and agile software development
- 2+ years’ experience with Linux / Unix software development environment
- 2+ years’ experience with Software Testing or Software Verification
- Experience writing automation test scripts, setup / maintain test environments and perform automated testing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :
- Experience with Amazon Web Services Development / Testing
- Experience with software / hardware testing
- Knowledge of mission systems

Associate Level :
Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.
g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.
g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level :
Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.
g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.
g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Travel :
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
Relocation :
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range for
Associate : $90,950 - $123,050
Mid-Level : $112,200 - $151,800
