Job Summary
Our client seeks a dynamic Director President of Accounting to lead their tax and bookkeeping departments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the public sector with tax preparation, planning, and compliance, with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage large teams in fast-paced environments.
A commitment to a client-first culture and the ability to scale a growing team are essential.
This role is in Tampa and can transition to being a hybrid role.

Director of Accounting Responsibilities and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA Required
- EA or advanced degree preferred
- Public Accounting background with extensive experience in planning for individuals and small businesses
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate taxation, federal and state tax laws, accounting principles, and tax planning strategies
- Oversee all aspects of the company's tax functions, including planning, compliance, and reporting, with a focus on exceptional client service
- Lead and mentor a team of tax and bookkeeping professionals, promoting collaboration, innovation, and excellence
- Prior leadership or managerial experience, with a track record of overseeing teams and driving business outcomes
- Proficiency in tax software (Lacerte), ERP systems, and financial tools (Power BI)
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, with a commitment to staying current on industry trends and developments
