The Director of Sales and Client Success is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing and executing sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.

This remote role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage both the sales and client success teams, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy and Execution :
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and market opportunities.
  • Identify and target potential customers, managing the entire sales system from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Monitor and adjust sales activities, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and forecast sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Client Success Management :
  • Oversee the client success team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring the product meets their expectations.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Monitor customer health metrics and proactively address any risks to customer satisfaction or renewal.
  • Team Leadership and Development :
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and client success teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Provide training and support to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer experience and drive business growth.
  • Collaboration with Product Team :
  • Work closely with the product team to provide feedback from customers and market trends, helping to shape the product roadmap.
  • Ensure that customer feedback is integrated into product development to continually improve the product offering.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting :
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and potential risks.
  • Prepare and present regular sales and client success reports to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations for growth.
  • Operational Efficiency :
  • Implement and optimize sales and client success processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure HubSpot is up-to-date and being used effectively by both teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales and / or client success, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within a software or tech company.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales and client success strategies in a small company environment.
  • Strong understanding of the software industry and the ability to quickly learn new products and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
