CV Resources is partnering with a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding company in the construction industry, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their Portland team!

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and processing the financial information essential to our construction projects.
Entry-level candidates with a degree in Accounting or Finance are encouraged to apply for this position!
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accounting records, including project expenses, ledgers, and other financial documents.
- Analyze financial data to detect trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost efficiency.
- Assist in the budgeting process by compiling historical data and aiding in expense forecasting.
- Work with project managers to monitor project costs and ensure they align with budgets.
- Process invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles and industry regulations.
- Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary information and documentation.
- Help develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capability to work well in a team setting and manage multiple tasks.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling and reporting.
