Job Description
This is a Hybrid (must work in PST zone) position.
Location :
- Supplier Personnel's primary work location will be Pleasanton with occasional travel to other client locations as needed.
- Supplier Personnel shall devote their full time and attention to Client while on the premises.
Hours of Operation :
Supplier Personnel will be available to support meetings, working session, perform assigned tasks and deliverables including knowledge transfer sessions between Monday - Friday from 7 : 00 a.m. PST to 10 : 00 p.m. PST.
Additional hours needed to complete assigned projects according to the individual project deadlines is flexible. Supplier Personnel will need to be available during weekends / holidays for on-demand work
Client provided facilities : Client will provide Supplier Personnel with suitable work space at the primary worksite location.
Security badges will be issued for Supplier Personnel and must be in his / her possession at all times and visible while on site.
Client provided equipment and software : Building security key card, desktop computer or laptop computer and docking station, standard office software including e-mail, non-standard software (as needed & approved by management), telephone, cell phone and other general office equipment (as needed).
Other client provided resources : Security badges will be issued for all Supplier Personnel and must be in their possession while on site.
Temporary badges may be issued for Supplier Personnel on-site intermittently or if Supplier Personnel does not have their permanent security badge in possession.
Holidays : Client Offices are closed and the building(s) will be inaccessible, on the following holidays (or observed day if the actual day falls on a Saturday or Sunday) : New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.
Day, President's Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
The specific date of each vacation for the current and future years is posted on the client Website.
Deliverables or Tasks :
- Principal Quality Analyst / Engineer perform exploratory, functional, regression and end to end integration testing, root cause analysis and provide concise project status reports with risks and mitigation plan towards quality delivery.
- Participate cross-functionally in agile and / or waterfall SDLC phases, including business requirements analysis and requirements-based test planning, sprint planning, test design and execution.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders for an efficient QE deliverables and provide technical / tactical expertise to solve any challenges and improve overall quality.
- Become an application SME and provide QE efforts estimation, optimize test design / test execution, RCA, defects triage, prioritize and drive resolution of defects.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on BRDs, TDDs and / or agile project documents, develop test strategy and QE capacity / test plans and update project / defect tracking tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc.
and provide QE testing status with success metrics / KPIs.
- Constantly look for opportunities to improve testing methodologies, test coverage and efficiency of both manual and automation tests with high standards.
- Required Time Allocation :
70% - Functional test project execution Participate in Agile / Waterfall SDLC, Co-ordinate with Module Leads in Design, Development, Execution of Test Scenarios and Test cases.
10% - Support in building Test Strategy, Test Plan, QE Handbook, Release Notes and maintain Jira Dashboard.
10% - Peer review test design, test execution, RCA and overall standards of QE deliverables.
10% - Close coordination with multiple IT & business stakeholder, Functional guidance for automation team, connecting dots and ROI assessments.
Technical Knowledge & Skills :
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Quality Engineering (QE) experience in delivering quality products or software applications.
- Hands-on web / cloud / mobile based applications testing skills, expertise in conducting E2E testing for large scale and complex applications with micro services / APIs.
- Prior work experience in Insurance Industry and having good knowledge on workers compensation insurance is a plus.
- Well versed with SDLC Waterfall and Agile methodologies, Requirements analysis, Test Strategy, Test design, Test optimization, QE Deliverables Roadmap, test plan and test results.
- Expertise in JIRA, Confluence and other test / defect management tools.
- Good knowledge of Java, Linux, Windows and debugging / technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated skills in decision making and problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability in coaching / developing and mentoring QE team members.
- Track record of good time management, prioritizing projects and estimating work.
- Experience with Mobile Testing via Manual or Automation (Appium & Android SDK) including any of integration solutions such as Browserstack is a plus.
- Proficient with SQL for adding, modifying and extracting data from a RDBMS database including No-SQL or JSON formatted DBs.
- Good to have TestNg / Junit, Maven / Ant, also Jenkins inclusive of Shell Scripting understanding for CI / CD / CT integrations with DevOps / DevSecOps.
- Understanding Data Driven, Keyword Driven, Hybrid, ATDD frameworks inclusive of BDD & TDD techniques and POM based approach.
- Working knowledge with version control tools (TFS, GIT or SVN) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AI, Machine Learning techniques and framework such as (CNTK, etc.)
