Job Summary
The Traffic Manager I prepares daily traffic and automation logs for WGCU-FM, its HD multicast stations, and associated digital web streams.
WGCU is Southwest Florida's source for PBS and NPR. A member-supported service of Florida Gulf Coast University, WGCU provides educational programming that inspires, informs and engages our community.
Serving all or part of 12 counties in south and Southwest Florida, with five distinct digital TV channels, two FM radio channels, two HD radio channels, and multiple websites, WGCU delivers national and international programming, and develops, produces and delivers relevant, informative and educational local programs to the region.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to :
- Distributes production schedules or work orders to departments.
- Reviews documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or material requirements and priorities.
- Manages radio inventory database system to ensure sponsorship spots are scheduled properly and as ordered to ensure fulfillment of financial commitments.
Report on any discrepancies and makegoods on a daily basis to ensure goals are met.
- Work with the traffic software system to meet industry and station standards related to category and client separation, fair rotations, and best use of unsold inventory for impact, continuity, and overall sound.
- Creates the daily traffic and automation logs for WGCU-FM, its HD multicast stations, and associated digital web streams.
- Collaborates with sales, production, and finance departments to resolve problems.
- Clarifies, diagnoses, reports and provides resolutions to resolve internal and external technical problems.
- Provide reports related to inventory management, financial projections, and category and daypart revenues.
Other Duties :
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Assists and provides backup for the Television Traffic Manager.
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications :
- This position requires a high school diploma and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Full-time experience in radio and / or television traffic.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
- Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and / or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Communication, Broadcasting, or closely related field.
- Previous experience utilizing public radio and television content delivery systems.
- Knowledge of Adobe Audition or audio editing software.
- Knowledge of ProTrack, Wide Orbit, Marketron, or equivalent broadcast traffic software.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Working knowledge of radio and television automation systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of new digital platforms that support public media content.
- Knowledge of television traffic and programming operating systems and workflows.
- Knowledge of WGCU, FGCU, and FCC standards, rules, and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
- Skilled at inventory management, proactively working logs to maximize revenue, placement, and continuity.

- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files and reports.
