We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant - Investments, based in New York, New York. In this role, you will be working in the industry, managing and analyzing investment portfolios, reviewing annuity contracts, assisting with the administration of estates and trusts, and performing monthly budget reviews.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and review of investment activities on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all transactions related to the agency portfolio.
- Assist with the administration of estates and trusts.
- Review annuity contract calculations for accuracy and process payments accordingly.
- Prepare and submit required annual State filings and assist with State annuity audits.
- Conduct monthly budget reviews and summarize findings.
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledgers, and journal entries.
- Use financial software such as Oracle, NetSuite, and SAP to manage and maintain customer records.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Support during annual audits by preparing required reports and footnotes.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Account Reconciliation
- Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Expertise in Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance
- Ability to process Journal Entries
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in Month End Close procedures
- Knowledge of NetSuite software
- Proficiency in Oracle software
- Familiarity with SAP software
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
