Rockville MD based structural designengineering firm is currently looking for a BIM Manager to assistwith the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Revit in theStudio.
You will partner with the companys structural engineers toensure the and implementation of projects. You will be responsiblefor developing implementing and maintaining BIM standards templatesand manuals.
As a leader within the Drafting department you willprovide effective coaching and mentorship to other drafting staffmembers.
Job Responsibilities :
- Develop implement and maintain BIM standardsand templates
- Manage internal drafting and BIMteam
- Creating or adjusting templates familiesschedules etc.
- Regularly update and maintainBIM related manuals
- Support with daytoday BIMinquires and ensuring adherence toprocedures
- Actively work on projects modellingand detailing.
- Assist in the management of BIMfor multistoried building Projects.
- Liaise withinhouse design engineers and clients (Architects) in order tounderstand the design flow process and efficiently apply BIM indesign
- Coordinating the delivery of BIM relateddesign and construction document information with Architects andMEP Engineers
- Manage site based BIM toolsincluding BIM360
- Provide quality control forcompleteness and adherence to companystandards
- Provide technical leadershipmentoring and coaching to employees
- Organizeand lead internal companywide BIM meetings and provide progressupdates to the team.
- Liaise with softwarevendor when required.
- Conduct routine audits ofproject files for detection and file sizemanagement
- Conduct review of template databasesto correct and update for redundancy and properimplementation
- Attend strategic meetings withexternal clients to ensure a BIM plan is agreed to and followed andprovide feedback when needed
- Assist with CADoutput management layering and file structuring for basic CADManagement duties.
- Coordinate needed hardwareupgrades with IT.
- Troubleshootproblems
QualificationRequirements :
- Must have5 years of experience as an inhouse BIMSpecialist
- Musthave previous experience working and implementing BIM in anengineering firm
- Proficient withRevit
- Proficient inAutoCAD
- Understanding the basics ofconstruction drawings for buildingstructures
- Leadership and mentoring skills andthe ability to effectively work with colleagues in a small businesssetting.
- Good verbal and written communicationskills with organizational capabilities
- Complexand proactive problem solving
- Proven ability totake initiative manage competing initiatives and meetdeadlines
- Able to work effectively bothindependently as well as part of a team
- Able todevelop working relationships both internally andexternally
- Personality conducive to acollaborativeenvironment
