Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual School Social Worker to support the psychological and social well-being of our students.
Under the guidance of the Principal, the Licensed School Social Worker will provide direct and indirect services to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that impact their academic performance.
The role includes facilitating communication between the school, families, and community resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Counseling : Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing personal and psychological issues affecting their school performance and social interactions.
- Intervention Planning : Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop intervention plans and lead workshops or prevention programs as needed.
- Communication : Engage with parents and students to identify needs for assistance and counseling. Building relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Support for Staff : Assist teachers and administrators with behavior management by de-escalating student situations. Work collaboratively with staff to support student before, during, and after de-escalation.
- Resource Coordination : Connect students and families with external support services for economic, emotional, or physical challenges.
- At-Risk Support : Provide targeted assistance to at-risk students or those with disabilities.
- Progress Monitoring : Maintain case files and reports to track student progress and address ongoing challenges.
- Resource Access : Help families in crisis (e.g., abuse, homelessness) access essential resources like shelters, food banks, and medical care.
Support families while accessing resources.
Requirements
- Bilingual : Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Education : Master's degree in social work.
- Licensure : Valid license and certification to practice social work.
- Experience : Preferred experience in School Social Work or related settings.
