Description

Hiring 1-3 Research Assistants to work on a multi-year research project about integrative health combining Chinese medicine and biomedicine for Cantonese speaking Chinese elders in partnership with On Lok and UCSF.

Research Assistants will work on a combination of Cantonese speaking and writing work (including conducting qualitative interviews / focus groups in Cantonese, transcription and translation of Cantonese audio recorded data and English documents, qualitative data coding) AND graphic and web design of patient educational materials.

Additional projects include assisting with video / photography and administrative help at On Lok sites for focus group / stakeholder interviews and exercise / movement classes.

RAs should have at least 5 hours of regular in-person (in San Francisco) availability per week including at least some Mondays 12-3pm and some Fridays 10am-12 : 30pm.

Work will be a combination of in-person during business hours at two On Lok sites and on-your-own’ tasks (up to 10-15 hours per week) which can be done at your own schedule.

Requirements :

Fluency in reading / writing Chinese using traditional characters and speaking Cantonese OR experience with website design and graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Preference for both

Expertise with Google suite

Professionalism and clear communication

Desire / interest to work with Chinese speaking elders

Additional Information :

Pay is USF standard $18.07 / hour ($18.67 starting July 1) for undergraduate students and $19.07 / hour ($19.67 starting July 1) for graduate students.

Preference will be given to students who have had previous work experience with transcription, translation, qualitative research, or graphic / web design.
