Job Description :

This Senior Technology Manager role will directly lead a team of network security engineers in the delivery of functions and services within the External Networks organization.

This role will provide leadership across the technical team, define strategy, planning and continuous oversight for the adequate execution and performance of compliance programs, engineering, and operational support / escalation functions.

This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices.

Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.

Responsibilities :

  • Directly manage a team of 10+ direct reports and dotted line global resources
  • Develops a technology strategy and processes in support of regulatory, compliance and governance functions
  • Sets objectives and key results and enables individuals / teams with training & resources to achieve them
  • Lead the delivery of network cybersecurity functions and services within the Perimeter Security and Threat Prevention technical domains which include firewall, web content filtering, proxy, threat prevention, and intrusion detection (IDS / IPS) technologies
  • Responsible for running compliance programs including the firewall and proxy rule review and entitlements program, configuration management, certificate management, and supporting internal and external examinations in partnership with Information Security, Architecture, and Risk teams to ensure successful outcomes
  • Ensure Firewall and Proxy policy compliance with network and information security guidelines, baselines, and architectural standards.

Collaborate with Global Information Security, Architecture & Engineering teams in the review and adoption of compliance requirements and standards

  • Drive continuous improvement, simplification, and automation of existing and new processes by proactively identifying automation opportunities and partnering with automation teams
  • Develop, document, and maintain governance and compliance processes and procedures
  • Develop routines and reporting mechanisms to ensure successful outcomes and technology compliance
  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees / teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees / teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments / blockers
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders

Required Qualifications :

  • People management and technical management / leadership experience
  • IT service management (ITIL) framework
  • IT regulatory and compliance standards, laws, rules and regulations
  • Network Security, Cybersecurity or Information Security experience
  • Products including Firewall (Checkpoint, Fortinet), Web Proxy and Content Filtering (Skyhigh Webgateway, Broadcom), Threat / Malware prevention (FireEye, NSX, TippingPoint), Load Balancing (F5, AVI)
  • Network administration (i.e. Firemon, Skybox, HPNA), logging / SIEM (Splunk)

Desired Qualifications :

  • Strong technical background in Network Security, Cybersecurity, Information Security domains with exposure to managing regulatory, compliance, risk, and governance processes or functions
  • Knowledge of IT and Information Security standards, laws, rules, regulations for the financial industry
  • Proven experience managing network operations, implementation, engineering or architecture teams or similar functions
  • CISSP, CCSP, Security+ or similar technical certifications are highly desired
  • Good understanding of ITIL and Agile frameworks in the delivery of IT services
