Our client is a growing, debt-free, highly profitable conglomerate in South Charlotte within the technology, consumer products, and media industries.
They are a Market leader within their industries in the US and they have a global footprint in over 30 countries. Reporting to the VP of Tax, you will be part of a high-caliber tax team of 10+ qualified tax professionals.
The role will expose you to international tax planning and strategy along with tax compliance work.
Hybrid schedule of 2 days per week
Essential Job Functions :
- Review cross-border acquisition and disposition transactions for U.S. tax implications and recommend structuring alternatives.
- Advise on tax-efficient methods for repatriating funds.
- Proactively manage the Company’s Subpart F exposure, suggesting planning alternatives to minimize the impact on the Company’s effective tax rate and cash flow.
- Proactively manage the Company’s foreign tax credit benefits, suggesting planning alternatives to maximize the impact on the Company’s effective tax rate and cash flow.
- Maintain PTEP, tax pools, and basis calculations of the Company’s foreign subsidiaries.
- Manage the Company’s transfer pricing policies and provide alternative pricing strategies if available.
- Consult with business unit and / or legal personnel on day-to-day business matters from a U.S. international tax perspective, including review of contracts and financing documents.
- Implement projects and drive them through to a timely, successful conclusion.
- Manage the international tax components of IRS audits.
- Coordinate information gathering related to U.S. international tax return compliance (Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 1118, 1042, FBAR, and others) and year-end tax accounting reporting (GILTI, FDII, FTC, etc.
and work with finance and accounting personnel to resolve information reporting issues.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of international tax compliance and international-related year-end tax accounting calculations.
- Enhance the profile of the tax department through the provision of tax advice to business units in a timely, accurate and proactive manner.
Desired Education :
B.S. or similar degree in Accounting; Masters in tax is a plus.
CPA and / or J.D. are a plus.
Desired Experience :
The position requires someone with strong technical U.S. international tax expertise, experience advising a complex corporation on corporate projects and transactions, plus the capacity to interpret technical matters and taxation strategies for non-tax personnel.
The candidate should have at least 7-8 years of extensive U.S. international tax experience with either a large public accounting firm and / or a large Multi-national corporation.
