Position located in Charlotte, North Carolina
Responsibilities of the Formulation Scientist, Technical Operations :
- Lead and support moderately complex formulation development, reformulation, and process optimization for various product forms, including powders, tablets, capsules, and liquids.
- Collaborate with product development staff to execute pilot and scale-up batches, collecting data to validate in-process parameters and finished product specifications.
- Conduct bench trials, perform physical assessments, and gather data to facilitate the approval of alternative materials.
- Supervise product development technicians in data collection and analysis.
- Train manufacturing associates on new processes and modifications to existing processes.
- Assist in creating new formulations that incorporate new active raw materials.
- Explore and develop studies involving new equipment to enhance the soft chew manufacturing process and formulation.
- Prepare and authorize Master Batch Records and Change Control Requests for all scale-up or production batches.
- Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Evaluate and compile stability data.
- Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams, monitoring production runs of new products.
- Engage in continuous learning by attending industry expos and conferences, applying acquired knowledge.
- Communicate effectively across departments and collaborate within a team setting.
Requirements of the Formulation Scientist, Technical Operations :
- BS / BA in chemistry, nutritional science, engineering, or similar with 5+ years of experience in product development or formulation of supplements and health products.
- Animal health product experience is a plus.
- Experience working in a cGMP environment.
