ABC Burglar Alarms is looking for a Service Technician Apprentice in our Bowie, MD branch.
Position Summary : Responsible for the tasks associated with service and repairs of fire alarm systems, intrusion systems, access control, and CCTV systems.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provides on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs of customers low voltage fire and security equipment
- Prepares accurate and timely service tickets and reports
- Performs other duties as required such as installation of new devices, inspections and repair of deficiencies including but not limited to installation of cabling for a variety of low-voltage systems
- Makes connections and required adjustments as directed; test operation of all components of each system to the signal-receiving center
- Ensures a high level of customer service, satisfaction, and communication
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment on and off site
- Interfaces successfully with Administration, Sales, Customers, and Management
Education & Requirements :
- High School Diploma / GED
- Experience is a plus but not required
- Basic computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must read and speak English
- Must be responsible, reliable, self-motivated, team oriented, quick learner, personable and well organized
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required
Work Requirements :
- Ability to work with hand tools, meters, and other necessary industry related equipment
- Ability to climb ladders and operate lifts
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Other Information :
- Trainee will be provided with a vehicle once training period is complete
- Trainee will be provided with a company phone
