GENERAL SUMMARY :

We are seeking a Cardiovascular Procedure Technician to provide direct care for patients undergoing heart and / or vascular procedures.

This role involves assisting physicians, delivering quality patient-centered care, performing IV starts, monitoring hemodynamics, operating equipment, documenting procedures, and providing patient education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

• Monitor patients undergoing routine invasive procedures
• Provide intra-procedural technical support and quality patient care
• Perform and record hemodynamic / physiologic wave forms and calculations
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, and families
• Perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment
• Maintain radiation safety standards for staff and patients
• Take on-call shifts as per department schedule
• Assist physicians using sterile technique and fully participate in 3D imaging, vascular, and cerebral cases if performed at the site
• Utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, EKOS if performed at the site
• Participate in device implants and circulate in all other EP cases if performed at the site

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

• Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT)
• Cath Lab / EP Lab requires a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, Associate degree in cardiovascular technology / basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and / or education
• 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is required
• Various certifications and licenses are required based on specialization
• Basic computer skills, math skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills are essential
