Repair Technician & 2nd Level Support Consultant
Location : Amherst, NY
$50,000 - $65,000 Annually
Purpose
The Repair Technician will repair analog and digital equipment to meet and / or exceed both the customer’s expectations and Ivoclar key performance indicators and quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Conduct electronic and mechanical testing and repair of analog and digital equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic support via phone with internal and external customers
- Maintain excellent and accurate communications with the appropriate staff and customers
- Provide technical advice and support to internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, and Education departments)
- Coordinate loaner equipment usage, both to and from customers
- Monitor and maintain equipment repair parts inventory in order to meet service and repair schedule / demand
- Maintain quality logs and records as required by the Quality
- Establish / maintain vendors for replacement parts and supplies for equipment line
- Assist with departmental training initiatives for self, staff and Salesforce
- Assist other departments with spare parts, used equipment ordering
- Provide assistance to other departments as needed
- Perform other duties or assist in special projects as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor or Manager
Your Qualifications
- Two-year degree (AAS preferred) or certification in a related field, and 3-5 years of practical experience (dental field is desirable), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a small team environment
- Familiarity with digital and analog meters and various power tools is essential
- Excellent IT / PC skills and ability to communicate advanced topics to users with very different backgrounds
- SAP / Salesforce knowledge a plus
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with a certain degree of creativity
- Basic troubleshooting skills. Ability to identify common hardware, software and design errors relevant to equipment
