Main Purpose of Job
This position functions as the assistant to the Personnel Director for the Eastern Shore Hospital Center. This position provides administrative and support services at the expert level of proficiency.
Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination(MDH # ;issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Departmentof Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals andresidential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Healthor any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19vaccination.
Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractualemployees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performingany duties at the facility.
An individual may request an accommodation byproviding appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medicalor religious reasons.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : One year of general clerical or administrative support experience, at least six months must have been paraprofessional personnel experience involving the application of personnel procedures, policies, rules, and regulations to specific employment actions.
Appropriate paraprofessional personnel experience should have included responsibility for activities such as, preparing and maintaining employment records, calculating salaries, applying and interpreting rules and policies, preparing personnel-related reports, counseling employees regarding benefits and obligations, and responding to inquiries concerning employment actions.
Note : Candidates may substitute Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following :
- Experience initiating and processing recruitments in JobAps and / or HRIS system
- Experience conducting new hire orientation
