EY has a robust life sciences commercial practice, helping clients with strategic growth, business transformation, and commercial excellence.
This senior role within our Consulting practice will have the opportunity to lead large engagements, build solutions, lead teams, and innovate in the market.
Our practice works with large pharma, biotechnology, medical device manufacturers, and medical technology industries. You will be an integral member of our life sciences consulting team, and spend most of your time focused on providing client services in the following areas : business transformation, commercial operations, commercial data and analytics, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation and enterprise transformation.
Your key responsibilities
A majority of your time will be spent supporting client engagement teams and working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services in the life sciences domain.
Skills and attributes for success
Strong prior experience in Life Science commercial strategy with a focus on operational models. Additional experience in market access and commercial analytics will be a plus
Prior experience working in Strategy focused boutique life sciences or internal strategy roles with top biopharma clients (, Merck, Pfizer, BMS)
Experience managing a team of at least 5 reports in a dynamics fast paced setting
Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds
Leading large-scale client engagements and consistently delivering quality client services
Monitoring progress, managing risk and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
Managing expectations of client service delivery and staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business
Fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment by playing an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization
Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships and networks.
Developing relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs
Remaining current on new developments in the life sciences advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Biology, Pharmacology
6+ years biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries, focused in at least one of the following areas :
Commercial analytics
Brand strategy
Pricing and market access
Commercial operations model transformation
Digital campaign management strategy
Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets ( pricing databases, prescription and claims databases, etc.)
Experience with commercial operations and analytics
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
The executive presence to interact with the C-Suite
A willingness to travel to meet client needs
Significant advisory / consulting experience is within life sciences is required
Ideally, you’ll also have
Life science or biomedical background and experience in data analytics and commercial operations
PhD in life sciences or bio-focused engineering discipline

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $119,900 to $219,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $143,900 to $249,800.
Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
