You will be joining our Accounting / Finance team to take ownership mainly for Accounts Receivable and other month-end activities.
This position will report to our Accounting Manager. Our goal is to find a Accounting / Finance professional that is interested in learning and growing with a company.
Someone that is excited about being a part of creating a foundation for the department - and developing and implementing new processes and protocols to support our growth.
This position will collaborate across multiple departments within the organization.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain Customer Accounts - includes account set up, billing, bi-weekly and monthly payment collection
- Ensure Customer Accounts are up-to-date, including new enrollments, withdrawals, changes in enrollment, changes in billing, etc.
- Assist in the Month End Closing process through maintaining various Balance Sheet reconciliation schedules. Including but not limited to, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, customer deposits / prepayments, and ASC 842 Lease Accounting
- Prepare monthly recurring journal entries. Including but not limited to, prepaid expense allocations, depreciation / amortization, revenue adjustments / accruals, customer deposit forfeitures, ASC 842 Lease Accounting Entries.
- Ensure all scholarship and grant accounts applications are completed as needed and money is collected.
- Review transactions in QBO with appropriate General Ledger account and Budget coding.
- Train employees across departments on proper General Ledger accounts for expenses
- Cross train in Accounts Payable to serve as backup and assist as needed
- Maintain organized accounting files and records
- Able to handle confidential information in professional manner and has strong understanding of the requirement of discretion inherent in the position
- Miscellaneous projects and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications :
This position is perfect for a detail-oriented "doer" that is adaptable and thinks quickly on their feet. Specific characteristics and background we are looking for are :
- Associates or Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent additional work experience)
- 3-5 Years Experience in the Accounting field
- Experience with full general ledger accounting and month end closing
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Google G-suite
- Knowledgeable in GAAP accounting principles
- Self-directed with excellent organizational skills and high standard of attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and a sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes
- Ability to work with a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives
- Desire for continuous improvement and identifying areas for process improvement.
