Work Performed :
Rocky River Golf Club is an 18 hole public golf course located in Concord less than a mile from Charlotte Motor Speedway.
It is owned by the city of Concord and managed by Atrium Hospitality in coordination with Embassy Suites Hotel. It has mini verde bermuda grass greens and does over 40,000 rounds of golf each year.
We also host and take care of the UNCC men’s and women’s practice facilities.
Qualifications for the Assistant Superintendent are a 2 or 4 year turf degree and a minimum of 3 years of golf course experience.
The Assistant should be able to train and motivate crew and be a leader by example and through positive reinforcement. A NC pesticide license or the ability to obtain one is required within first 6 months of hire.
The assistant will be in charge of fertilizer and pesticide applications and must keep good and accurate records. Knowledge of ultradwarf bermudagrass a plus but not a necessity.
The candidate must also be able to lift at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis. The golf course has a Toro irrigation system so knowing how to run OSMAC satellites and Lynx software is also a plus.
The assistant will also need to know how to fix irrigation wires and leaks. Lastly, the assistant will also work closely with the superintendent to come up with ideas and solutions to make the golf course better.
This is a great opportunity for an up and coming qualified staff member at a golf course or a student who has recently graduated or is about to graduate.

Qualifications :
Required Prior Experience :
Six (6) months of maintenance experience
Preferred Prior Experience :
Hotel maintenance experience
Preferred Education :
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Licenses / Certification :
HVAC, Electrical and / or Plumbing Certification
Physical :
Able to lift a minimum of 50lbsoccasionally
Able to lift a minimum of 25lbs regularly
Ableto bend and squat repeatedly
Able to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift
Other :
Flexible to work day shifts, early mornings, evenings,nights,weekends and holidays
