Medical Mutual is seeking a talented Contract Attorney to join our dynamic organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that provides exceptional legal counsel and support.

As a Contracts Attorney at Medical Mutual, you will play a crucial role in. drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contractual agreements to ensure they align with legal standards and the best interests of the organization.

This role involves safeguarding the company from potential legal pitfalls and contributing to strategic decision-making by providing insightful legal counsel.

The role is hybrid, and location is Medical Mutual's Brooklyn, OH headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently to identify and analyze legal issues, assess risk, and provide recommendations and counsel.
  • Develops standard documents and compliance guidelines and negotiates on behalf of the corporation.
  • Draft and review contracts, prepare and review vendor contracts, ensuring all terms are clear, fair, and legally sound
  • Negotiate terms, work with vendors to negotiate contract terms that protect the company's interests.
  • Ensure compliance, ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice, offer legal guidance to company leadership on contract-related matters.
  • Manage contractual disputes, address and resolve any disputes that arise from vendor contracts.

Qualifications

Level I Requirements : Requires a J.D. degree, 3 years of law firm and or legal experience, and admission to practice law in Ohio.

Law firm and employment law preferred. Must have the ability to research and apply legal principles, solve problems, and occasionally travel to offsite locations.

Level II Requirements : Requires a Juris Doctor degree, 5 years of law firm and or legal experience, and admission to practice law in Ohio.

Law firm experience preferred. Experience in employee law is a plus. Must have the ability to research and apply legal principles, solve problems, and occasionally travel to offsite locations.

Level III Requirements : Requires a J.D. degree, at least 8 years of law firm and or legal experience, and admission to practice law in Ohio.

Law firm experience preferred. Experience in corporate and employment law preferred. Law firm experience required. Must have the ability to research and apply legal principles, solve problems, and occasionally travel to offsite locations.

  • Proven ability to research and apply legal principles.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems and evaluate and provide risk minimizing solutions

Preferred qualifications :

Attention to Detail : Ability to meticulously review and draft contracts

Negotiation Skills : Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable term

Legal Knowledge : Comprehensive understanding of contract law and relevant regulations

Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Problem-Solving : Ability to address and resolve contractual disputes effectively
