Nutrition Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR)

Job Summary : The NDTR is responsible for resident nutrition intervention, nutrition counseling / education, nutrition care planning, implementation and evaluation under the supervision and guidance of the Registered Dietitian.
The NDTR is a contributing member of the interdisciplinary team in establishing and implementing the interdisciplinary care plan.
The ability to assess data reflective of the elder's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the elder's age-specific needs as required.
Schedule and Rate
- Approximately 27hrs+ / weekly, Hours available Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
- $24 - $26 Hourly. Experience Compensated

Essential Functions :
- Assists Dietitian in screening new admissions in Long Term Care.
- Responsible for reviewing accuracy of diet order and determining if the order is in accordance with clinical data and communicating information with interdisciplinary teams.
- Responsible for completing required documentation thoroughly, accurately and promptly (i.e. nutrition assessments (new admissions, annual, quarterly, 14 day, 30 day, 60 day, etc.
weight changes, results of diet consultations, diet changes, etc.)
- Update menus, diet changes, new admissions, resident allergies / special diets, and meal orders as needed.
- May provide diet counseling to elders, families, friends, and staff regarding dietary restrictions. Coordinates elder's meal
- Reports any potential nutritional concerns to the Registered Dietitian and assists Dietitian in the follow-up of nutrition complaints and concerns.
- Be an active participant in brainstorming, planning, and implementing new processes to improve the overall dining experience of our elders.
Minimum Qualifications :
Earn at least an associate's degree and complete an approved NDTR program at an accredited college or university through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND);
OR earn a bachelor's degree and complete coursework accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Must pass national exam for NDTR's administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Must complete continuing educational requirements to maintain registration.
Preferred Qualifications : (Preferred but not necessary qualifications)
- Proficiency in computer skills necessary for daily tasks.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and thorough understanding of special diets.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
