LHH is ramping up a search for a Master Scheduler in the Metro Detroit area. The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to ensure optimal utilization of resources and timely delivery of products.
This role requires strong organizational skills, forecasting abilities, and the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and manage the master production schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory levels.
Coordinate with sales, production, and procurement teams to gather demand forecasts and production requirements.
Analyze production capacity, lead times, and resource availability to optimize production schedules and meet customer delivery commitments.
Monitor and evaluate production performance against the master schedule, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Communicate schedule changes and updates to relevant stakeholders, including production supervisors, inventory managers, and customer service representatives.
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve scheduling conflicts, prioritize production orders, and expedite urgent orders.
Utilize ERP / MRP systems and planning tools to maintain accurate production schedules, inventory levels, and material requirements.
Develop and maintain production metrics and KPIs to measure schedule adherence, production efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
Participate in production planning meetings and provide input on capacity planning, resource allocation, and production strategies.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline scheduling processes, reduce lead times, and optimize production flow.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
Proven experience (3+ years) as a Master Scheduler or in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong understanding of production scheduling principles, capacity planning, and inventory management.
Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems (, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced proficiency in Excel or other planning software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
APICS certification (, CPIM) or similar credentials in production and inventory management are advantageous.
