Job Summary :
Under close supervision, the Building Maintenance Worker performs routine building maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of facilities.
This includes basic repair work, custodial tasks, and general upkeep of the premises. The role requires physical strength and the ability to lift, push, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and has a hands-on approach to maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as basic repairs to building fixtures, minor plumbing work, painting, and general building upkeep.
- Carry, lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs, including trash, supplies, luggage, and equipment.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of building interiors and exteriors, including cleaning common areas, emptying trash, and managing recycling.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues and report needed repairs.
- Support custodial services, ensuring all areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for use.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of furniture and equipment for events or meetings.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Ensure that all building maintenance tasks are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
- At least one year of experience in general construction, custodial building maintenance, or repair work.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs.
- Must possess a valid Texas Class C Operator’s License .
- Basic knowledge of building systems, such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with minor carpentry, plumbing, or electrical repairs.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in building maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently and with a team to complete assigned tasks.
Working Conditions :
This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. It may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy items for extended periods.
Safety equipment may be required when performing certain tasks.
