Responsibilities :
- Performs general ultrasound scans on anatomical regions such as abdomen, pelvis, and small parts.
- Utilizes proper settings on the ultrasound equipment and patient tables for optimal scanning.
- Assembles supply kits and instruments for exams such as thoracentesis, paracentesis and assists physicians with the performance of these procedures.
- Cleans and disinfects transducers according to established infection control standards and manufacturer instructions for use.
- Utilizes the electronic medical record and imaging information systems for processing, storing images and documentation.
- Stock supplies in the rooms and alerts manager when inventory is low.
- Confers with a radiologist to ensure complete acquisition and selection of images is performed.
- Communicates with other clinical departments to coordinate patient care activities.
- Instructs technical students and collaborates with residents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required :
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current / valid registration, certification or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).
- Current American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
