Position Highlights :

• Physician-led, Patient-centered team-based care environment

Primary Responsibilities :

• Participates in initial examination of obstetrical patient, and in collaboration with the MD, shares responsibility for care, treatment, and delivery of patientÂ
• Examines patient during pregnancy, utilizing physical findings, laboratory test results and patientâ€s statements to evaluate condition and ensure that patientâ€s progress is normalÂ
• Discusses case with Obstetrician to assure observation of specified practicesÂ
• Instructs patient in diet and prenatal health practicesÂ
• Stays with patient during labor to reassure patient and to administer medicationÂ
• Delivers infant and performs postpartum examinations and treatments to ensure that patient and infant are responding normallyÂ

Required Qualifications :

• Masterâ€s degree and Midwifery certificateÂ
• Completion of Midwifery, Completion of Midwifery Education ProgramÂ
• Four years of clinical Midwifery experience, required with referencesÂ
• Current NYS Midwife License and AMCB certificationÂ
